About
Ascent AeroSystems has built compact coaxial drones since 2014, including SPIRIT, a Blue UAS Cleared platform, and the longer-endurance SPARTAN. Robinson Helicopter Company bought the firm in April 2024 and in March 2026 folded its drone line into a new business unit, Robinson Unmanned, based in Wilmington, Massachusetts. Ascent remains a wholly owned subsidiary and still competes under its own name.
