Eelume
Snake-shaped autonomous underwater vehicles for subsea inspection and seabed defense work.
About
Eelume is a Trondheim company, spun out of NTNU and SINTEF research in 2015, that builds snake-shaped underwater robots. Its Eelume S all-terrain AUV has a jointed body that bends to work close to subsea structures, slopes and the seabed, or straightens to travel like a torpedo, and it can be launched from a pier, a vessel or the shore. It carries acoustic and optical sensors for mapping and detailed visual inspection.
