Exail
French maker of uncrewed surface vessels, underwater robots and navigation systems for navies and survey.
About
Exail is a French maritime robotics and navigation company formed in 2022 from ECA Group, a drone and robotics maker, and iXblue, a navigation and photonics firm. Its DriX uncrewed surface vessels, about 8 to 16 metres long, carry sonars, cameras and other payloads for hydrographic survey, seabed mapping, surveillance and support to mine countermeasures. Its UMIS mine countermeasures system links surface vessels, autonomous underwater vehicles and remotely operated vehicles to find and neutralise naval mines from a safe distance. It also makes inertial navigation systems and fibre-optic gyroscopes, and its industrial sites are in France and Belgium.
