FlyingBasket, founded in 2015 in Bolzano in the Italian Alps, designs and builds battery-powered heavy-lift cargo drones. The idea came from seeing a helicopter supply a mountain hut in the Dolomites. Its eight-rotor FB3 carries up to 100 kg and the FB4 up to 200 kg, lifting materials for power lines, forestry, telecom sites, construction and civil protection where cranes and helicopters are costly or hard to use.
