Ground A is a German defence technology company, founded in January 2026 and registered in Düsseldorf, with offices there and in Berlin, that builds laser-based defence against small drones. Its GA 1000 combines radar, electro-optical and infrared sensors, computer vision and AI tracking with a high-energy laser on a fast pan-tilt mount, in a system about the size of a Euro pallet. Portable energy modules, each carried by four people, power it away from the grid, and an operator always makes the decision to engage.
