HyLight
Hydrogen-powered autonomous airships for long-range inspection of power lines, pipelines and railways.
About
HyLight is a French company that builds and operates the HyLighter, a small autonomous airship that handles like a drone but uses far less energy. Powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, it flies slowly beyond visual line of sight for up to about ten hours, carrying cameras, lidar and thermal sensors, and HyLight's software turns the data into reports on methane leaks along pipelines and on defects and vegetation near power lines and railways.
