Kongsberg is a Norwegian technology and defence group based in the town of Kongsberg, where it began in 1814 as a weapons factory. The Norwegian state holds just over half of its shares. Kongsberg Maritime was split off as a separate listed company in April 2026, and the group now centres on defence, security, ocean and space technology, from the Naval Strike Missile and the NASAMS air defence system to sonars, underwater vehicles and satellites.
