Mass Magnetics
U.S.-made rare-earth magnets from recycled scrap, for the motors in drones and robots.
About
Mass Magnetics makes neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnets from recycled rare-earth material, such as end-of-life electric motors, hard drives and industrial equipment. It uses machine learning to sort scrap by exact magnet grade and chemistry, and its process mills and sinters the recovered material into magnets in the United States, in grades up to N52. It also sells recycled rare-earth alloys to U.S. metallurgists while it builds its own sintering capacity.
