Microdrones began in Siegen, Germany, where its founders set up the company in 2005 and started building the md4-200, one of the first quadcopters sold for professional work. Today it offers complete survey systems for mapping, construction, mining, agriculture and inspection: the md4-EasyOne aircraft with LiDAR and camera payloads, the mdCockpit app for planning and flying missions, and mdInfinity and LP360 software that turn the data into point clouds, maps and 3D models.
