Skyways builds autonomous cargo aircraft that take off and land vertically like a helicopter and cruise like an airplane, using a hybrid design that runs on jet fuel. Its V2 aircraft, in production, carries about 30 pounds over up to 450 miles; the larger V3, in testing, is designed for 100 pounds and more than 1,000 miles. The aircraft move parts and supplies to remote and offshore sites for the U.S. military and for the oil, gas and offshore wind industries.
