Stanhope AI is a London company building AI for machines that act in the physical world. Its Real World Model applies active inference and the free energy principle, ideas from neuroscience, so that a drone or robot keeps updating its picture of its surroundings and can decide what to do in situations it was not trained for. The models are lean enough to run on the device itself with little data and power, and are meant for autonomous systems, defence and industrial uses.
