VARTA is a Ukrainian company that began in 2014 installing and making intercom systems and turned to defense production after the full-scale invasion in 2022. Its CRAB family of unmanned ground vehicles includes CRAB-A, with an armored capsule for evacuating wounded soldiers under fire; CRAB-LS, a logistics vehicle that carries up to 270 kilograms of ammunition and supplies; and CRAB-M, a machine-gun-armed combat vehicle with Starlink and LTE links and thermal optics.
