Selling to the State of Mississippi

Purchasing portal, certifications and where to get help

How a company registers as a supplier with the State of Mississippi, the state's certification programs and drone programs, and where to get help in Mississippi, with the official sources. Federal registrations such as SAM.gov are in the federal guides.

Purchasing portal

MAGIC Supplier Self-Service (Mississippi Accountability System for Government Information and Collaboration), Department of Finance and Administration (DFA); open bids are listed on the MS Procurement Search

How to register

  1. Know the basics: DFA says all vendors must be registered to do business with the State of Mississippi. Registered vendors get RFx (bid) notices for the products they supply, can answer RFx electronically, and receive purchase orders.
  2. Open the State of Mississippi Supplier Self Registration page: https://sus.magic.ms.gov/sap/bc/webdynpro/sapsrm/wda_e_suco_sreg?sap-client=100
  3. Fill in the required fields (marked with an asterisk): company name, Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN), phone and email; how you want notices sent; street address, city/ZIP, state and country; and a contact person. One address must match the address on your W-9. A D-U-N-S number is optional.
  4. Choose product categories. DFA's reference guide says bid invitations are sent to suppliers according to the categories they select.
  5. Read the Data Privacy Statement, check the box, and click Send. DFA sends one email with the MAGIC vendor number and a second with the password.
  6. If the form returns a duplicate-vendor message, the company is already in MAGIC (DFA converted vendors from the old SAAS system in 2014). Email mash@dfa.ms.gov with the subject 'Vendor ID Request' and include the MAGIC vendor number (if known), FEIN/Tax ID, vendor name, contact name, contact email and contact phone.
  7. Attach a signed IRS Form W-9 to the supplier account in MAGIC, or email it with the vendor number to OFMMagic@dfa.ms.gov. DFA's reference guide says a supplier must submit a W-9 before it can be awarded a contract or purchase order.
  8. Enroll in PayMode, the state's electronic payment channel. DFA says it requires new vendors to register for electronic payment. DFA's 2022 guide says to register 3 to 5 business days after sending the W-9: https://www.paymode.com/mississippi
  9. Sign in at https://portal.magic.ms.gov/irj/portal to answer RFx and view purchase orders. Search open bids and state contracts at https://www.ms.gov/dfa/contract_bid_search
  10. For help, call the MMRS Call Center at 601-359-1343, option 2 (DFA's 2022 guide), or email mash@dfa.ms.gov. To register without the online form, DFA says to print and complete the Supplier Registration Form and contact the state agency you want to sell to.
