The Commission coordinates federal support for small suppliers in the defense industrial base. Priority areas include drones and one-way attack systems, munitions and their components, microelectronics, strategic and critical minerals, shipbuilding and repair components, sensors, batteries, castings and forgings, and textiles. It pairs enhanced SBA loan guarantees (up to 90% where authorized) with investment and contracting opportunities, maps production capacity through the Civil Reserve Manufacturing Network, and reports regularly to the President.
